Graphics and Design

Homework
Homework must be in by 2:30 pm on the day it is due
whether or not you are in class that day. If Blackboard is down, you may
email your work directly to me. Additional requirements will be posted on
Blackboard.

HW 1:
Chapters 1 – 3
This homework assignment is over Chapters 1 - 3 in your "ENGR 1304:
Engineering Graphics and Design" book.
All drawings must be done in pencil and should be neat. Your paper
should be clean and straight. You will be graded on appearance.
Your orthographic projections should line up appropriately as
discussed in class.
Do not use graph paper or rulers -- this is
sketching.
Being able to freehand your thoughts and ideas is a good thing and
extra tools will just get in the way of what we're trying to get you
to learn here.
You should turn this assignment in on paper in class by 2:30 pm on
the due date. Do not submit anything on Blackboard for this
assignment.

HW 2:

This homework assignment is over Chapters 4 - 5 in your "ENGR 1304:

HW 3:
Project 1 Exercises
This homework assignment is over Project 1 in your "Engineering
Design with SolidWorks 2010" book.
For this assignment, there are "Questions" and "Exercises."
- Questions are short answer, on pages 1-111 to 1-112.
- Exercises are models + short answer, on pages 1-112 to 1-128
Create a Word (or equivalent) document to answer the Questions.
Some of the Exercises require responses, such as finding an object's
volume or center of mass. Respond to these in this document as
well.
For the Exercises, create the files associated with each one and
save the files using the exercise number as the name, such as
Exercise 1.8.SLDPRT.
FOR THIS
HOMEWORK ONLY, also, use
the Save As... command to save each exercise as a tif (graphic
file), such as Exercise 1.8.tif.

Be sure to remember to answer any related questions within the
Exercises.
Be sure to follow all
directions. Models are very, very specific, and you must be very
particular.
Once you have completed all problems for this assignment, put the

This homework assignment is over Project 2 in your "Engineering
Design with SolidWorks 2010" book.
For this
assignment, there are "Questions" and "Exercises."
- Questions are short answer, on page 2-84.
- Exercises are models + short answer, on pages 2-85
to 2-96.
Create a
Word (or equivalent) document to answer the Questions. If
any of the Exercises require responses, respond to these in
this document as well. Use the following conventions
to ensure full credit:
- For
the Exercises, create the files associated with each one
and save the files using the exercise number as the
name, such as Exercise 1.8.SLDPRT.
- Be sure to remember to answer any related questions
within the Exercises.
- Be sure to follow
all directions. Models are very, very specific,
and you must be very particular.
- Use the Save As Copy process from steps 534 - 546 in
Project 2 to save assemblies along with all their
related parts into individual folders for each
exercise.
